Earlier Glenn Beck discussed a long lost manifesto from 1969 by Bill Ayers’ Weather Underground called “You Don’t Need A Weatherman To Know Which Way The Wind Blows” on his radio program (also see video clips from his TV show below). For those of us who have been following the Obama Administration closely, many of their policies seem very orchestrated toward a particular goal. Nearly all aspects of American life have been channeled over the past year and a half to run through the executive branch of our government; namely the White House. From banks to health care to national defense and beyond; “There’s a czar for that!” Why?
With a close read of “You Don’t Need A Weatherman To Know Which Way The Wind Blows, ” one can’t help but find the similarities between the world communist plans the Weather Underground were hoping to bring about in the 1960′s and the policies pushed through Congress and the White House to greater erode our Constitutional freedoms.
Therefore, any conception of “socialist revolution” simply in terms of the working people of the United States, failing to recognize the full scope of interests of the most oppressed peoples of the world, is a conception of a fight for a particular privileged interest, and is a very dangerous ideology. While the control and use of the wealth of the Empire for the people of the whole world is also in the interests of the vast majority of the people in this country, if the goal is not clear from the start we will further the preservation of class society, oppression, war, genocide, and the complete emiseration of everyone, including the people of the US.
The goal is the destruction of US imperialism and the achievement of a classless world: world communism. Winning state power in the US will occur as a result of the military forces of the US overextending themselves around the world and being defeated piecemeal; struggle within the US will be a vital part of this process, but when the revolution triumphs in the US it will have been made by the people of the whole world. For socialism to be defined in national terms within so extreme and historical an oppressor nation as this is only imperialist national chauvinism on the part of the “movement.”
I invite you to download this document and read it for yourself. Make your own judgment of whether Obama and his administration are using this manifesto as a blueprint for our nation’s future. More importantly take a long hard look of what to possibly expect from this administration and how they are hoping the Tea Parties and other conservatives will react.
Being aware of our nation’s accurate history and our Founding Fathers is critical. However, being aware of what the slow growth of Progressivism, Socialism, and Communism into our American government looks like is also critical in helping to defend against it. In our Liberty Library we’ve created a section on Progressive Literature. Too many books have resurfaced lately for them to simply be ignored. We will add more books to the Progressives section as they become available.
Other books you will find in the Progressive section of the Liberty Library right now is “Prairie Fire” by the Weather Underground, “Reclaiming Revolution” by STORM – the organization Van Jones founded, and “The Coming Insurrection” by the Invisible Committee.

Update:
Glenn Beck has a 3 part series of shows where he deconstructs the Weather Underground’s manifesto “You Don’t Need A Weatherman To Know Which Way The Wind Blows” and presents a theory that it is this manifesto’s radical mission to ‘transform’ America into a socialist global society, in which Barack Obama and others have been using as a guide for their overall plans for America. A radical theory? Maybe, but look at the hard evidence along with Obama & others own words and judge for yourself. If you agree with Beck or not, we’d love to hear your thoughts on this theory. And if you disagree, don’t be afraid and please enlighten us and tell us where he has it wrong.
